Not sure yet if the two are related, but I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 this morning and when I went to launch Storyline I get two popups and a prompt to activate the software. When I enter my serial number, it tells me the number is invalid. This is the prompt I get at launch of software:

Repairing the Storyline installation should do the trick.
