Hi, I am trying to find my way around SL and pretty quickly came across this problem. I have put a number of numeric question slides together, however, when I press the submit button the slide does not advance as it does in the other multple choice slides.
Hi Peter, many thanks for getting back to me its appreciated, however this issue has now been resolved. That said I now have another problem which you may be able to help with, I have added transitions to most of the slides but on one particular slide as the slide exits to the right it reveals a white screen/blank slide momentarily then displays the next slide?
There is no slide between them so I assume I have a setting wrong, or maybe something to do with the timeline?
Could it be a bandwidth issue with your slide transitions? If you can post a link to the course, I'd be happy to see if it's something I can replicate...
Thanks for your comments, I would like to post a link, but as I indicated I am a total novice! surely I will need to upload the course to somewhere? I have no idea how to save the course where you can access it!
If you can guide me through it I will glady post a link!
Sure thing, Clive And sorry, I was under the impression that you were experiencing the issue on a published version of your course. If you want others to view your published Articulate content but don't have a web server, one quick way to share your course is to sign up for a free Dropbox account:
Well lets see if I have followed the instructions correctly! I now have dropbox, which seems like a fantastic facility, if I can use it!
I'm sure I will get there in the end, but if you would take a look at the course I would appreciate it, that is if it is actually at the end of the link?
Nice, looks like you got it online with no trouble But yeah, I can see the quick flash of white between a few of the slides that you're talking about. Would you be able to send us the .story file so we can take a close look at it and test it out on our end? Thanks!
I've seen that you can share a .story file by publishing to a public Dropbox folder, but I can't publish there. Is there any way to share so that a client can see the story (story.html)? So, by dropping the content into a shared folder? I tried, but it seems to not be working.
I have the same issues as Clive. It jumps over to the next slide if I insert the INCORRECT answer. But when I test it with the CORRECT answer, the answer does not submit. I have tried creating other submit buttons and keys, but to no avail.
That's weird, regarding Dropbox. Have you tried Amazon S3?
Hi Peter,
Sorry I was unclear. When I said I couldn't publish there, I should have said I SHOULDN'T publish there - to a public folder. Proprietary info. Sorry to be so delayed in replying. Got really busy and wasn't able to go through my posts.
I searched for topics related to numeric value quiz questions not advancing - I found this topic but the user has said their issue is sorted but now why/how! I am having this problem, I have looked around all the settings, tried different things but each time I preview the scene the other quiz questions all work fine but this one does not advance to the next question or the results slide. I don't know what I am doing wrong but basically it's a real simple question: 'How many insurance policies are there?' The answer is '5'. That's it. Not too complicated. Can anyone help me work out what's wrong??!
I'm having the same problem. It seems when you use a Numeric question type and change the feedback to 'None' it doesnt advance to the next slide. It seems to be identified issue, can anyone help please?
I'm not seeing any associated cases for the members above who experienced this. Are you able to share your .story file here, or send it to us privately, so we can take a look at it?
Correct, this looks like an issue we're currently working on. However, you should be able to get this working pretty quickly. What you'll want to do is add a trigger to your quiz slide that jumps to the next slide when the user clicks on "Submit".
It should look something like this:
If you're still not able to get this working, can you share the .STORY file?
Adding the extra trigger works - as it does move you to the next slide and the percentage score is accurately recorded. However when you review the answers it states that the answer was incorrect when it was, in fact correct. Any ideas?

Hi Peter,
Many thanks for the reply, it's much appreciated.
I have take out the 'temperamental' slide and created a mini version. The issue is still there ie the score is correct, upon review it states incorrect when it is correct. Many thanks for your help!
I noticed one thing in your file that may be causing this issue. When I looked the properties for the quiz slide, I noticed that the slide is set to reset itself. Now, even though the answer is showing up in the field correctly, the review thinks it's back on the original slide (before the leaner actually answered). This is why the incorrect feedback is showing when the answer is correct and the other way around.
To fix this, click on the cogwheel icon in the "Slide Layers" panel for the main layer. Then, select "Resume saved state":
I'm also attaching a modified version of your file, just in case you want to test it out.
I'd just like to point out that I worked on your file for 15 minutes before asking Christine if she could see anything. She had the answer 30 seconds later
I know this is an old thread, but I'm having this same issue with numeric slides not advancing when submit is clicked.. I've double checked all of my submit triggers are still intact, so I'm scratching my head. My feedback is selected as none as the client doesn't want to give feedback. it seems that could be a problem?

Welcome to Heroes, Clive!
Are you able to attach a quick screencast demonstrating the issue, or maybe your .story file so we can take a closer look? Thanks!

Hi Christine and Peter,
Thank you so much for the speedy responses! The 'resumed saved state' solution works a treat!
:0)
Kind regards

Awesome!
I hope you have a great day, Dave. Good luck with the project!

Hi Becky,
Do you have a "Jump to next slide when user clicks submit" trigger added after the submit questions trigger?
If you remove your feedback, there may not be a way to move forward once the question has been submitted.
