i have several cases in my courses where i need to pause the layer animation/voice over and then pick up again.
the Storyline Player has a Pause/Play button that does this by manually clicking. Is there a way for a trigger to activate the play or pause button on the Storyline Player?
You can create an object and make it either invisible or out of the frame (so that users wont see it.) Then create a trigger on the object that plays or pauses the media you want to control when the object timeline starts (at a time you want the media to play from).

Hi Randy,

Hope I helped.

Thanks for the help, but i'm looking to pause everything on the slide, not just the media. the layer animations would keep going.
So you have a slide with a layer, on both of which has animations/voiceovers. And you would like to pause all of them at some point?
that's right! and from what i've found it's not possible to pause animated layers. it's only possible to pause the base layer not additional layers.
i've submitted a feature request for this since, from what i've seen, a lot of people would love to have this function added!
clicking on the built in player pause button does exactly what i want, i just need to be able to activate the pause from a trigger.
Hey Randy, Have you tried this method?http://community.articulate.com/forums/t/40906.aspx
Thanks Randy for submitting the feature request. Here is an additional method to pause the timeline of a slide using layers.
