Storyline player text half missing

May 21, 2013

Hi there,

I've just had storyline updated to update 3 and I'm experiencing issues with the player.

The player is only displaying half the text on the 'next' and 'back' buttons, the title, menu and resources.

I published the course and tested this on a number of PC's and unfortunately it's still displaying with half the text.

I've attached a screen shot.

Look forward to reaching a solution.

Kindest regards,

Ange

Hi there Ange,

Thanks very much for the screenshot. Before we investigate this, can you please confirm you're running the correct DPI on the machine(s) you're using to view this course? It looks very similar to something that could be caused by using a different setting.

Storyline will function as expected when Windows is set to 96 DPI (dots per inch).

Storyline doesn't currently support 120 DPI. If your system is set to 120 DPI, you may experience erratic behavior, such as:

*  Elements of the application are misplaced or distorted.

*  Objects are misplaced or distorted when previewed or published.

*  Zoomed images don't work as expected.

*  Font sizes are incorrect after using the translation features.

Here's how you can switch to 96 DPI

If that doesn't help, can you tell me if this happens when you preview as well? Or does this only happen after you publish?

How are you viewing the published content - What web browser are you using? Are you uploading to a web server or LMS?

Also, are you able to share the .STORY file here, so I can test this on my end?

Thanks very much!

Christine

Hi Christine,

Thanks for your help. I've double checked and yes I'm running 96 DPI.

I've just launched storyline for the first time this morning and the problem seems to have disappeared.

I'm not sure what happended, I did restart my PC after the install yesterday...

I'll keep an eye on things and if I experience this again I'll let you know.

Kindest regards,

Ange
