Storyline Project as Emulation of a Database System (Microsoft Access)?

Hi,

I've been away from Storyline a bit and was wondering if perhaps anyone knows of functionality that might help in a demo we are creating.  We need to replicate a windows like mainframe system but it needs to be random access versus a pathed progression.

A learner would be presented a home screen as they would in the real system, use drop downs and enter data (that is preset) and then the choices are validated against their interactions.

There is currently a version that was created in Access that simulates the environment, but I was wondering if Storyline could perhaps supplant the Microsoft Access version.

And if not, could we wrap a Storyline functionality around the run time Microsoft Access piece?

My thought is that Access is really the only solution, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything new.
