Storyline project on YouTube

Aug 03, 2017

I am using Storyline 2 and my project has been created to run on its own without interaction. There is audio associated with a few slides. Is there a way I can make this project available on YouTube?

Hi there Paula!

Although there isn't an option to publish a Storyline file to MP4, you can use a second instance of Storyline to record the final published output using the Screen Recording Tool. From there, export that screen recording to a MP4 file.

If you have access to Replay, you can do the same thing! Simply record the published Storyline output, and publish to MP4.

I hope that helps!

Hey Paula!

If you have no interactions, a great way to accomplish this is to publish/preview your course and record your screen as it plays. You can do this either by using Replay or by opening another instance of Storyline 2 and using the Record Screen feature and exporting it.

Both will produce an mp4 which you could then upload to Youtube.

Let me know how that works out for you! 😊

Thank you I will give it a try. I did try the screenshot and found it hard to get it to start from the beginning so I may just have to extend the timeline of my first slide to give me time to set up the screenshot recording. I do have replay but have never used it so this might be the time to try that.

Thanks. I’ll let you know if this works.
