Storyline publish settings & LMS compatibillity

Nov 27, 2014

Hello,

I developed a course in storyline, and upload it to Britannica LMS.

But, the assignment report is "incomplete".

I want to make sure that all of the course's publish settings are suitable for the LMS system requirements, as follows:

Britannica LMS system requirements -

SCORM Compatibility

   A. Events report (SCORM 1.2)
·         student_id*
·         student_name*
·         *credit
·         Lesson_Status (completed / incomplete)
·         Lession_location
·         score.raw
·         Score.max
·         Total_time*
·         student_data.max_time_allowed
*Read only data

B.  Singel SCO Configuration

C.  Packaging products will be in IMS Packaging Standard

Does anyone know if storyline publish settings are compatible to those system requirements?

Thank you,

I'm not a technical expert on Scorm but that looks about right. Here are a couple of things you can try. When you go to publish, make sure it is on Complete/Incomplete in the tracking options (as above), - the default is Passed/Incomplete which may not work with your system. Also I add a couple of extra triggers, one on the success layer, one on the failure layer, and one to submit results on the base when the user clicks on next to close the course. Good luck!

If you are doing a quiz, then you will notice that in the triggers area of your results slide, there will be a trigger called Submit Results when timeline starts. Well I copy that (Ctrl+C) and paste it into the success and failure layers (using ctrl +v). I also do a new trigger to submit the results if the person clicks on the Next button. I don't know why but this solved some completion issues I was having.

Ah. So I assume you are tracking by slides viewed. Do you have any lightbox slides in your course? They don't track as well as normal slides so I don't usually count them. e.g. If I have 10 slides and 2 are lightboxes, i will say course complete if 8 slides are viewed. Otherwise submit a case to Articulate, there might be some special change Blackboard LMS needs (or try to Blackboard user forums, people there might have had the same problem). SABA LMS needs a slightly different file to track Storyline.
