Storyline published files play on Linux?

Aug 03, 2014

For Articulate Storyline published files, can it be run/viewed on a Linux Operating System? Our customer is putting the published files in a Linux OS server where the files are shared to allow users to access via web. It is not trackable so not LMS (SCORM) published files.

The technical specs in the website only showed for Windows OS / MAC OS.

the reason I posted this is that, we have a customer where their server is Linux hosting the content published from Storyline. from user's viewing the content, IE plays well, but Chrome, Firefox and Safari - not consistent results. Certain machines can play with sound, certain machines no sound but only the content displaying.

Hi Elina,

The viewing requirements for Storyline are at the bottom of this article, and the OS doesn't play as large of a role, as the browser and flash versions do:

Flash:

Flash Player 10 or later (http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash), and one of the following browsers:

  • Windows: Internet Explorer 6 and later, Firefox 1.x and later, Google Chrome, Opera 9.5 and later
  • Mac: Safari 3 and later, Firefox 1.x and later, Google Chrome
  • Linux: Firefox 1.x and later
HTML5:
  • Google Chrome 14 or later on Windows or Mac
  • Safari 5.1 or later on Mac
  • Mobile Safari in Apple iOS 5.0 or later on iPad/iPhone
Apple iOS: Articulate Mobile Player in Apple iOS 5.0 or later on iPad
