Storyline really slow in Bootcamp

Nov 27, 2013

Hello everyone,

We are starting to use Articulate Storyline at my job to create online content so I wanted to test it out on my own to get a better idea how to use it. I use a Mac, but I did not have windows installed so I tested it on my Dad's retina macbook pro (8gb RAM) because he has Windows 7 (32-bit) and Office 2013 installed via bootcamp. I downloaded the trial for Articulate and tried testing it out, but it was practically unusable. It was extremely slow and would regular freeze up and was very glitchy.

I've read from others on here using older macs that they have not had problems and even used it with Parallels. Most of the information that I have found online and on this site is for Parallels so I'm sure that I did something wrong. I was just wondering if anyone has had issues with Articulate running really slow on Macs via bootcamp by taking up a lot of RAM and if anyone had some ideas or best practices for running it smoothly.

Hi Mitch and welcome to Heroes!

I've seen previous threads where community members have suggested re partitioning more GB and RAM to the Bootcamp side to support running Storyline.

There is some discussion here regarding Bootcamp vs. Parallels (personally, I'm on a PC, so I can't weigh in on which may be better).

Additionally, I only see best practices for running in Parallels, but that you should be able to use another virtual environment such as Bootcamp.
