Storyline sending completed status to LMS after 1 question

May 16, 2014

I have a quiz in Storyline that is setup with completed/incomplete and uses the results slide for tracking.

For a 10 question quiz, if I get the first question right, the system sends completed to the LMS and it will record the score to the LMS if I close the window.

If I get the first question wrong, then it stays incomplete, but as soon as I get a question right, it send the completed status.

I don't want completed to be sent to the LMS until all the questions have been answered.

We upgraded from Quizmaker 09 (we need HTML capability), and all the Quizmaker 09 quizzes act as desired.

I think it's something to do with the new Tracking Options page, but if I click on "Track using number of slides viewed" it sends completed at the right time, but it doesn't send my score.  When "Track using quiz result" is clicked, it acts as described above.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Tabitha,

  1. Select you result slide,
  2. then click on Edit Result Slide.
  3. Make sure all the questions are included in the result slide.
  4. Also check the passing score.

My guess is all the question are not included in the result slide.

I hope it helps. If not, I would be happy to see your file if sharing is possible.

Thanks,

Yes all my questions are included, but my passing score is 0%.  Would that cause this to happen?

I used 0% as my passing score in Quizmaker and this didn't happen.

I want whatever score they get to be passed to the LMS no matter what it is and to get completed in the LMS when they finish all the questions (regardless of their score).

Hi Tabitha,

What have you set in regards to the completion status - you have four different options detailed here.  I'd also review this article on troubleshooting common LMS issues in regards to tracking/reporting, and specifically look at testing it at SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard testing method for SCORM content.

If you're still having difficulty with the score at SCORM Cloud we'll want to take a look at your .story file and how everything is set up.

I used Completed/Incomplete.  The problem is that I can answer just a couple of questions and close the quiz and receive a score in the LMS with the quiz marked as complete.  If I resume the quiz, it will update my score but it shouldn't be marked complete yet.

I will see if I can test it at SCORM Cloud.
