I just started working on my 1st storyline project. I reopened it this morning and it opens and I can work on each slide no problem. When I try to preview an error message pops up saying "Storyline has stopped working" then closes. Any suggestions? Thanks
First, if you haven't already, try restarting your machine.
Also, make sure that you're working with local project files.
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
If the problem continues, please try repairing Storyline:
Thanks for trying that out. If this is only happening with one project, I'm wondering it if might be an issue with the file. Can you try importing the slides and content from that project into a new, blank Storyline course?
If that doesn't work, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what's happening. You'll be able to attach the .STORY file on the second page of the following form:
