We have Storyline V3 1305.2012 which we purchased in about August 2013. I ahve opened the link you gave above which is a page about some of the issues, but has a link to download the update. When I access the update V5 link it opens a page which is for downloading a trial version or to purchase Storyline (V5).
My question is:
is it necessary to download a complete new edition of Storyline or is there just an Update download somewhetre.
If I donwload the full version of Storyline, will my serial numbers and access keys work for the currnet version? Our IT department tried downloading the full version of Storyline and received the message which I've attached.
I also faced the same issue while updating Storyline. Go to the ''Help'' tab in Storyline and click on ''Check for Updates''. If there are any updates for Storyline that has to be installed, you will be able to see a pop up box asking you if you want to update. Click OK. You will be taken to a page where you will be able to download an .exe file. After downloading the file, run it. The update will get installed. Note that you will have to close any instance of Storyline that is open before running the .exe file. Once the installation is over, open your Storyline project. It will ask you to activate your trial with the license key. Just click OK. Your license key will be displayed. You will not have to search for it or enter anything.
That's it. I hope that this was helpful. You will not have to download another version of storyline or anything.
Your serial number and everything should still be active when you download and install Storyline from that link, and the reason it presents it as a free trial or to purchase is that the site doesn't yet know you have a serial number. You could also use the method Vineetha mentioned to check for updates, and you'll need to be connected to the internet and not behind a firewall or proxy that could be blocking access to it.
