I'm using SL 2 to produce some interactive scenario. The final products (html5 on PC and IPAD) work fine, but sometimes they crash, showing a white screen.
Generally this happens when user change page (next / previous) fast; sometimes it happens with no reason apparently.
Thanks for your post! It can be tough to nail down why this is happening, since it seems to be random. I have a couple of questions that will help me narrow down why this is happening:
When you're on PC, are you using the latest version of Google Chrome? And on iPad, are you using Safari in Apple iOS 7 and later? Those are the supported browsers we recommend for HTML5 content.
I'm having a similar issue (white screen when clicking "previous" and "next" rapidly). It happens when I preview slides or view them in Articulate Review (in both Chrome and IE). See Slide 1.2 (the second slide) in the course below. I've also attached the .story file. Thank you!
I saw what you were describing in your file when published using Storyline 360, build 3.20.16814.0 and uploaded to Review where I was able to experience the same thing with a lot of clicking back and forth. I saw the same thing when publishing your course for Web too.
I thought it may be the slide transitions and animations so I attempted the same setup on a new course and I couldn't get that one to behave similarly and keep the white screen. It would occasionally have more of a delay, but the slide would load. You can view that example here.
I'd like to engage the help of my Support Engineers to take a deeper look into your file, so please keep your eyes out for an email from Support@articulate.com as they continue testing. I'll follow along as well!
HI Ashley - was there any resolution to the white screen occurring with a rapid next/prev in Review 360? I'm experiencing it right now too and not just on certain slides. My client needs this fixed ASAP. Is the only option to copy all the slides to a new course? Hope not. Please help!
Hi there, Performance Group. We found that rapidly clicking the previous and next buttons several times when the Fade slide transition is applied would cause issues. Does that match what you're seeing on your end? If not, we'd be happy to have a look at your file's setup.
We haven't released a fix for this issue at this point, but this discussion will be updated with any changes.
Hello Crystal,
Thank you so much for your reply. This does match what I'm seeing on my
end. Can you confirm whether this issue occurs only in Revew or whether we
can expect it to happen once the course is uploaded to the client's LMS.
I look forward to your reply.
Thanks,

I wasn't able to replicate this issue in a copy I published for web, so it seems to be specific to the Storyline 360 slides in Review. Keep in mind it's only on slides with transitions, so if you're able to remove those as well that would help!
If you run into any other trouble, let us know.
Also, I noticed that your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if you would like by clicking Edit beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.
Good news! We fixed the issue where rapidly clicking next and prev buttons several times will eventually not load the slide content if slide transition is set to fade in the Modern Player.
This issue of screens displaying blank is occurring for me on the latest update (3.40.22208.0) with no transitions set on slides. It only seems to occur when the navigation buttons are pressed before the slide is fully loaded. If an actively loading slide is bypassed via the navigation buttons and then returned to, it will appear blank until I click on the scrubber bar.
The issue you a describing appears to be a bit different than the one mentioned in this thread. Would you be able to share a screen recording of the issue? That would help out greatly to determine the best next steps!
Thanks for the response. I'm working with someone on your support team through a ticket. They're able to reproduce the issue and are still looking into it.
So has there been a fix/resolution to the issue of randomly getting white slides or even LMS API errors? We have a client that's having issues and usually we found that something wasn't loading in the course was due to a flash issue, so we would publish with HTML5 only. But we're not using flash in this course and it's still having issue on mobile specifically, chrome on tablets and phones.
It sounds like what you're running into is a similar bug we've reported to our team:
Bug: Rapidly clicking the Next button will not load slide content.
If so, I'm sorry we don't have any updates on a fix for this, but if you're experiencing this while not rapidly clicking the Next button, I recommend connecting with our support team so that we can take a closer look at your file!
I'm jumping back in here to let you know we just released another update for Storyline 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here! In this update, we fixed the issue where:
Rapidly clicking the Next button will not load slide content.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.

If you're still seeing this happen, send us a copy of your .story file here. We'll take a look and let you know what we find!

Hi Everyone,
Good news! We fixed the issue where rapidly clicking next and prev buttons several times will eventually not load the slide content if slide transition is set to fade in the Modern Player.
Here's how to install the latest Storyline 360 update to see all the recent enhancements and fixes.
If the problem reappears, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me, and I'll be happy to help!
