Storyline360 - Strange and different percentages than achieved in the course are submitted into the LMS

Feb 26, 2021

Hi everyone,

we are currently having problems with a storyline course. In some cases, strange percentages were submitted into the LMS (e.g. 83%, 86%, 88%, 89%) or different than achieved in the course (e.g. 80% in the course --> 100% in the LMS).

The course is structured as follows: There is an introduction part and a chapter overview, from which you can jump to four different chapters, which in turn conclude with 2-3 questions (These questions are not tracked). After successfully completing all four chapters, the final test can be taken. This was implemented in a question bank (questions from the chapters were partially imported, new questions were added): Out of 19 questions, 10 are randomly selected and asked to the learners. Learners must get at least 8 out of 10 questions (at least 80%) correct to pass the test.

Exportsetting:
Tracking: When the participant has completed a quiz: Final test --> Result slide
LMS: Scorm 2004; 3rd edition
LMS reporting: Passed/Failed

We could not find any error in the course itself or in the question bank and the result slide so far.

Can anyone help us here?

Thank you very much and best regards.

Marianna

My first thought is to check the points on all of the questions in the question bank and make sure they are all equal.  The default points are 10/question, so if you altered it on the imported questions and didn't on the newly created, that could cause an imbalance.

Depending on the draw, that would explain the odd scores.

Also have you tested in SCORMCloud? What is getting reported there?

Hi Marianna,

Yes. You can create a free trial for use up to 100MB on SCORM Cloud.
