Stuck on Results slide

Feb 11, 2021

Hello. I am currently getting stuck on the results slide. Already tried replacing it with a fresh one but it did not fix the issue. I had only modified the default slide by adding the following:

  1. Two triggers that's supposed to determine the next slide depending on whether the user passed or not.
  2. A text field on the failure layer.

I have 10 presentations set up the same way and only 2 are acting up. Please advise.

UPDATE: Fixed by creating a fresh template. Thank you anyway, Maria!

Hi, Charlie,

I am sorry you are having this issue with the results slide.

Without seeing your file, my first thought would be to check the order of your triggers.

If you are comfortable sharing your .story file publicly here, I would be happy to take a look and help troubleshoot.

Otherwise, you can also share it privately by opening a support case with our team (and the file will be deleted once troubleshooting is completed).

Hi, Charlie,

Thank you for sharing your .story file!

Here is what I noticed on your triggers for the Next button:

Windows 10 (1) 2021-02-15 at 3.51.58 PM

When the user receives less than 80%, it takes them to Slide 1.9, which is a thank you message. When they receive 80% or more, then it takes them to the next slide

The Jump to Previous/Next slide trigger in Storyline is similar to a browser back/forward button, not necessarily the slides' sequence. The best way to ensure what you want is to point to the specific slide number you want the user to go to. I would change it to Jump to slide 1.8 instead.

I also think those two triggers are switched. Do you want them to be able to retake the quiz if they achieve less than 80%? If so, this is how I would set it up:

Let me know if this works!

Thank you for looking into my request, Maria. And no, the tiggers are "correct".

When the learners get 80% and up, they are redirected to the next slide with the review button, then they see the closing slide. When they get a score below 80%, they are shown the custom failure message then redirected to a closing slide on another scene, with no option to review the quiz. (My bad for not including that.)

Does that make sense?
