"Submit" button becomes "Back/Next" for some learners (S2)

Jan 24, 2017

Storyline 2: Slide Navigation Controls have the "Submit" button checked on. However, some learners see "Back/Next" when they come to this slide. See the attached images. Why?

Hello Inga!

Are your learners seeing this the first time they take the quiz, or when they review the quiz? If this is happening when they review the quiz, this is expected because learners will need these buttons to navigate through the quiz questions. If it's happening the first time through the quiz, then we'll want to look into this a little further. Also, are you able to reproduce this behavior yourself?

Hi there Inga,

It can be tough to pinpoint the issue, especially when you can't reproduce it yourself. It could be that the two learners who are seeing this behavior the first time through aren't using a supported browser; for example, IE11 is not supported with HTML5.

If you'd like us to do a little more digging into this issue, you're welcome to share your file with the team, and one of our Support Engineers will work with you to troubleshoot further!

When learners review a quiz (or revisit question slides they've already submitted), they'll see the built-in Prev and Next buttons in the lower right corner of the player—even if you've disabled them throughout your course. These navigation buttons are necessary for learners to review quiz slides. Without those buttons, your learners will get stuck on that slide with no way to move forward or backward.
