Hi, does anyone know how to use subscript within a textbox on storyline please? I.e H2O with the 2 smaller like this? On storyline it shows as all one size...
You may find that the keyboard shortcuts to superscript (Ctrl+Shift+=) and subscript (Ctrl+=) text aren't currently working in Articulate Storyline 2.
This is a known issue. For now, you can superscript and subscript text by going to the Home tab on the ribbon as Elizabeth mentioned, clicking the arrow in the lower right corner of the Font group, and marking the Superscript orSubscript box on the Font window.
Sorry to hear that you've run into this issue in Rise as well, but it is one that we are aware of.
Perhaps the tips shared in this thread will assist you in the meantime and I'll be sure to add this thread to our report as well as we track user impact.
It's actually a feature request I've passed along to our Product team!
I know myself and a few other community members were able to copy and paste them out of Word into Rise. You'll need to use the options in Word to "insert symbol" not an equation editor.
Another idea from my colleague was to use the Unicode characters to insert them into the text. Just a quick web search will help you find the ones you need - for example the previous discussion was a user who needed a superscript 6.
I wanted to give you a heads up that we just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here.
One of the new Rise features is increased text formatting options, including subscript and superscript. I hope that helps with your writing equations in Rise! Here’s a quick tutorial on editing text in Rise.
Are you looking to add superscript or subscript to entries in the resource tab or glossary in Storyline? Although that's not currently a feature, I can understand how that option would be handy! I'll pass along that idea to my team--thanks for letting us know how we can make things better!
Are there plans to make superscript as an automatic formatting? In Word, for instance, typing "2nd" will automatically superscript the "nd". I ran into several issues where characters in superscript aren't copied from one software to SL3.
Furthermore, unlike the Size & Position window, the Font window, as well as the Paragraph window, cannot be left opened, so I must adjust all superscript single characters or strings one at the time.
Finally, there is no button in the tool bar to superscript or subscript characters (again, like in Word), unlike buttons to Bold, Italicize and/or underline.
I really appreciate your insight, and I can see how those limitations can make it difficult when you're working with multiple superscripts/subscripts in your content. I'll be sure all of this gets to our Product team as they consider new features for future updates of Storyline.
Just wondering how I go about superscripting text inside of the menu? I need to add the TM text, but smaller than the other text in the menu. I am using 360.

Hi Melanie,
If you click on the little arrow shown in this picture you'll get some additional text formatting options. :)

How can you type subscript in Rise? Ctrl+= zooms the screen.

How can you type subscript in Rise?
Tips:
1. to embed Code Cogs :

2. to embed images (.PNG) on the text.

How do you subscript and superscript text in caption (i.e., cc)?
Hello Imke and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
This thread is a bit dated, but I'd love to pop in and help you out.
In Storyline 2, many followed this article to add in their closed captions.
I'm curious how you're adding in your captions and what version of Storyline you are using so that we can help you out here.

Hi Shawna,
Great question! One way is to copy and paste the ™ superscript into the player text.
Here's a quick recording of the process in Storyline 360 and a snapshot of the menu titles in the published output:
