Subtitles Storyline/Rise

Mar 10, 2020

Hi everyone,

I recently bought Articulate 360 in order to create interactive E-learning courses for my company and definitely love it!

There are so many awesome features but I think, I just need a little bit of help now!

I uploaded a powerpoint presentation within Storyline and matched the slides with external Voice Over files. I then added also subtitles to the video - so far so good.

I'm now facing two problems:

1. When I upload the video on my training module created in Rise, the subtitles won't show up and by editing the video -> manage captions, I'm just allowed to upload one file. I figured out how to export the subtitles in vtt-format but this would be one file per slide hence I'll have more than one file to upload. Is there a way to do so in Rise?

2. I read that another way of making subtitles visible will be to publish the video in mp4 format/ on Review. If I publish my video in Review, the video seems to load but it won't play - any guidance on that?

Many thanks for all your help! :)

Hello Lisa!

I'm glad you're loving Articulate 360! Let start with the project in Storyline 360. If you're publishing the course as a video, the captions aren't included when importing it into Rise 360. In this case, I'd recommend publishing to Review 360 and then adding a Storyline 360 block.

To answer your second question, I'm happy to look into your project to understand why the video isn't playing. If that works for you, please use this private link to share your file with me. I'll let you know once I've received it and share my findings after testing.
