Suggested method for embedding video output in a WordPress page

Sep 13, 2013

We make our videos available via our company website, which is a WordPress site. Currently, we are embedding into a WordPress page template using iframe. I'm just wondering if there are other suggested methods.

Thanks!

Hi Lara,

Sorry we missed your post on Friday - although I'm not sure on what you're looking to do? Are you embedding access to published Storyline courses on your Wordpress page - or linking to videos that are on your Wordpress page within your Storyline course. I may just be having a case of the Mondays...but if you could tell us a bit more about what you're looking to do that would be great!

Hi, Ashley,

Our published Storyline videos are currently embedded into a Wordpress page using an iframe. We are just wondering if there are any recommended best practices for embedding storyline videos into Wordpress pages. (I call them that because they aren't really courses in our case). iframe might be the best way. Here is a link to one of our videos on the site. The page is a Wordpress template page containing just the header, footer and background image, then the Storyline output is added using the iframe tag in the body of the template page.

Hi Lara,

Thanks for the clarification - I don't use Wordpress, so I wouldn't be the best to give you advice on that, although I think your videos display well on the page. I have seen a number of forum threads about users placing their content on a Wordpress page, so I hope they chime in here to offer their advice!

Hi there, I'm looking to do the same.  This is my first experience with Wordpress.  Is it possible for someone to provdie the directions.  I completed on my last site, but that was Joomla?  I'll continue researching.  I should publish the HTML, correct.  There are a couple flash movies in my tutorial and my developer says it doesn't support flash.

I was able to get it to work with the following plugin.

Hi Kevin,

This thread is a bit older, so I'm not sure if anyone is still subscribed that could help you with Wordpress, but  you'll definitely want to look at publishing for Web and then you'll need to include all the files in the published output folder when uploading to your site.

You may want to look at messaging a few of the users in this thread using the "contact me" button on their profile to see if they're able to offer any other ideas or assistance.
