Summary Results Slide Variable to LMS

Oct 30, 2017

What is passed to the LMS from a summary results slide which selects results from 4 quiz results slides? Sorry for using "results" so many times.

If it is some hidden variable, can I show it on the final summary slide to make sure the process is working correctly?

If not, short of publishing to the LMS, is there a way to troubleshoot?

Hey Jeff!

This article describes the quiz data that Articulate Storyline communicates to learning management systems (LMSs) for SCORM and AICC content.

By default, LMS debug mode is disabled in Storyline and Studio content, but you can enable it for troubleshooting purposes. Here's how.

What are you hoping to display or needing to troubleshoot?

Hi Jeff,

If you're using one results slide to track other result slides, you'll have options to choose how the results should be calculated:

User must pass each quiz

Select this option if learners must pass each individual quiz (represented by each result slide) in order to pass the overall course.

If learners fail any quiz in the course, then they fail the entire course.

Combine points from each quiz

Select this option if you want the scores from all tracked result slides to be added together as the final score for the course, then enter a percentage in the Passing Score field.

In this scenario, a learner could fail one or more of the individual quizzes and still pass the overall course.

Based on those choices well send the combined results score or a pass/fail status.

Thanks Leslie and Ashley. I appreciate your responses and I'll check the links which Leslie provided.  LMS debug sounds like it might be what I was looking for. My original desire was to see explicitly what was being passed to the LMS for completion data.

The problem is our LMS is (sometimes) not recording completions and we can't figure out why.

However, since the quizzes are set up with unlimited tries we are trying the method of reporting based on pages viewed. The latest version are in the process of being uploaded now.

Fingers crossed!
