Support for Google chrome browser in desktop

May 19, 2020

Hi Team,

I have a query.

https://articulate.com/support/article/issues-addressed-in-the-latest-articulate-storyline-2-update

From the above link, i came to know Storyline 2 update 6 courses will be working in HTML5 supported browsers such as Google chrome and Firefox.

If we publish any courses in the earlier versions of Storyline (Storyline 2 Update 1 to 5) will not work in Google chrome browser in Desktop.

Please let me know whether my understanding is correct or not.

Thanks!

Hi Yuvaraja,

Thank you for reaching out!

Currently, Storyline 2 applications running update 6 and above did add support for later versions of Google Chrome. If possible, it is recommended to run the latest version of Storyline 2 to take advantage of the enhancements/fixes that were added.

With that said, I did want to bring up how Storyline 2 courses will be affected when Adobe discontinues Flash at the end of 2020. Any courses previously published to Flash will need to be republished to HTML5 before December 31, 2020 to continue working. Additionally, while the HTML5 output from Storyline 2 will work in Google Chrome and Safari, it won’t work reliably in other browsers. For more details on this, please feel free to check out this guide:
