I'm wondering if there is any way to publish a course from Storyline in a way that makes it more compatible with older browsers (including older Flash versions). Everything I've published so far requires Flash 10 to work.
Formerly I used Studio '09 and the courses generated worked fine on Flash 6 and above. I have some embedded systems that we had the luxury of using previously to present courses because of the low version requirement, but they do not support Flash 10. I just wanted to see if there was a workaround so I could continue using them with Storyline. Thanks for the responses.
I know you can use HTML5 on mobile devices, but is it possible to use it on a desktop browser such as Google Chrome? It would be great to not need Flash at all if we chose to go HTML5 only.
By default, here’s how Storyline determines which version of your content to display when users view it.
However, if you add _html5 after story in a published link, it should force the player to show the HTML5 version, assuming you selected the HTML5 option when publishing.

Welcome to the community, Jim!
Unfortunately, Storyline will always require at least Flash Player 10 or higher. And you can see the minimum browsers required here as well.
Out of curiosity, can I ask why the need for outdated specs?
Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Jim!
Correct, this is because Flash 10 is required to view Storyline content:

version 9 is a huge security risk for organisations. and is nearly 5 years old. I cannot think of a compelling reason not to upgrade
I just wanted to verify that.
