Survey results now showing in my LMS

Jul 15, 2014

Hello,

I have created a survey and published to SCORM 1.2 and uploaded to my LMS. I just recently updated my software to the 1/27/2014 build and now I am not seeing any results related to this survey in my LMS. Before updating my software I was receiving at least a question ID and then the entered answer for the survey. Am I doing something wrong or is this related to the updates or? Help.

Thanks!

Tami

Hi Tami and welcome to Heroes!

I'm sorry to hear about the issue you've experienced - and I assume you're referring to new files that you're working on, not the previous files you had already published and placed in your LMS? For the new files, did you check to ensure you included a results slide that tracked those questions? It also sounds like this is happening with each .story file you're using since update 5, so it could be that something occurred during the installation and you may want to conduct the repair of Storyline detailed here.

Please let us know if you're able to check into those elements and are still having difficulty. You may also want to check with your LMS team to confirm that nothing changed in the way that they were able to report on that behavior to you.

Hi Tami,

Glad that the previous answer helped you out!

In regards to your new question, if you include a survey results slide it includes a button that allows the user to review the questions and a “thank you” message for completing the survey. If you're looking for them to be able to change their answers and reset them - you could just modify the survey questions to "Reset to initial state" if you'd like the user to retry them, and the built in functionality for a regular quiz would be to also include a "retry" button and the triggers associated with it would be to "reset results" and direct the user back to the beginning of the quiz. This would reset all the questions though.

Hi there, Emad!  If you are hosting your course in an LMS, Storyline will send data about how your users answered questions in your course.

The data that is sent to the LMS comes from each instance of a user taking a course.  It would be up to your LMS to interpret and report that data to you.

I'm interested to see what folks in the community do when they want to analyze the way a question was answered by different users!  Hoping you get some good feedback here.
