Hi Hamed,

Are you inserting it as a Flash file or as a video? Using it as a video will disable the Flash/interactive elements so perhaps that's what you're experiencing? I'd also take a look at where you're editing and viewing the content, as you'll want to make sure you're viewing the content locally as detailed here and then publishing and testing the published output in the final publish environment.

If you're still having difficulty with the content, can you also share a copy of the .story file and the .swf file so that we can look at those separately?  You can upload it here for the community to take a look at using the "Add Attachment" button.

Hi Hamed,

I had a quick look and your SWF is making many references to the "stage" (the lowest level/layer of the SWF file). The problem is that "stage" becomes the Storyline project itself when you import the SWF book.

If you look closely, you can see the book appearing BEHIND the Storyline player after the preloading reaches 100%!

To make it work, you would have to alter code in the SWF itself. Or maybe you have options in the tool itself but I doubt.

HI Hamed,

I see the same as Pierre, and unfortunately I'm not a Flash developer to suggest what changes to make within the SWF file itself, but the first image of the white lines on the black screen does appear, and then the rest of it hides behind the player since the stage is the Storyline slide as mentioned above.

Hopefully that'll give you enough to go on or that others in the community are well enough versed on SWF to assist!

Hi Hamed! You will need to publish and view in the intended environment to see this properly. The error is simply due to being in preview mode.

Although most content displays during preview just like it would in the published output, there are a few items that are unavailable during preview. They are:

  • Videos from websites, such as Screenr, YouTube, and Vimeo
  • Web objects
  • Interactions imported from Articulate Engage
  • Print results
  • JavaScript triggers
  • Hyperlinks may not work during preview. We recommend publishing to test hyperlinks.
