Switching from PC to MAC...
May 27, 2015
My company is switching to a MAC computer environment. Currently, I am the only person who uses Storyline in my division and I need to be able to create, edit, and publish training content with using the MAC. I've read about running parallel desktops, but I need to know does this cause any glitches or issues with other programs and features on the MAC. Please let me know the pros and cons of using the parallel desktops and if there are any updates coming soon on Storyline compatibility with MACs.

Stephanie, lots of us run Storyline on Macs via Parallels. There are a few quirks regarding keyboard shortcuts, etc., but it actually runs very well.
I haven't seen it interfere with any of the Mac programs at all.
Hi Stephanie,
I haven't heard of any issues within the Mac environment either - you'll want to make sure you review the information here in regards to best practices for Mac and these specific to Parallels. and also ensure you have a DPI setting within the Windows environment as described here.
Congrats on your new set up! Let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you, Brett and Ashley!
The only issue I've run into is keyboard shortcuts, specifically nudging. You just need to to some adjustments to your control panel. Hopefully, one day, Articulate will smile on us Mac users and create a native Mac program. Hint, hint :)
What control panel do you make the adjustments in? I'm getting familiar with Storyline via Parallels and just started my search for the answer o "nudging" objects. I'll continue my search...
Hi Sarah! I'm not a Mac user myself and I'm not quite sure what Cary was referring to. You are welcome to reach out directly to the user via the user profile Contact Me option if needed as this thread is a bit dated and I'm not sure if Cary is still subscribed.
Thanks Leslie! I sent him a note to see if he has the solution. I think I'm close - it sounds like I need to disable my Mac shortcuts when I'm on the Windows side.
Hi Sarah,
This article from Parallels should help. http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v9/ga/docs/pt_BR/Parallels%20Desktop%20User's%20Guide/32884.htm
