Sync Powerpoint Recordings - some buttons don't work

Dec 31, 2013

I'm a VERY new user - 4th day of 30-day trial - and running into a problem (probably user error!) that I hope someone on this forum can help with.

.

I'm porting a powerpoint presentation into Articulate Storyline, and trying to sync the audio with the appearance of bullets.

Usually, it works exactly as described in the tutorial.

However, some bullets don't act like that.  on a couple of slides (so far), one or more of the bullets won't allow sync.  While most offer allow moving the start point to where you want, either by right-clicking to align with a cue point or by dragging the start to where it's needed, a few don't light up yellow when clicked, and the only option presented on right-click is "Delete all cue points"

As a result, on a couple of slides, bullets show up pre-maturely, or never.

What am I doing wrong?  How do I fix this so I can time the talk to the appearance of bullets every time?

Thanks,

Steve Callender

Hi Steve and welcome to Heroes!

I assume you're following this tutorial here, and without seeing which bullets are not syncing it's hard to know for certain what is happening on your slides. I figured I'd point to this thread, as the explanation by Becky with the images is helpful when thinking about how to sync the animations.

If you need additional help, please let us know. It's also helpful if you're able to share the .story file here with us so that we can take a look at what you're experiencing.

Hi All,

I agree with Ashley that it would be easier to "diagnose" by looking at the slide.

I was wondering too, based on this statement, Steve:

While most [bullets] offer allow moving the start point to where you want, either by right-clicking to align with a cue point or by dragging the start to where it's needed, a few don't light up yellow when clicked, and the only option presented on right-click is "Delete all cue points"

if PowerPoint (or SL) might have done something funky during the ex/port/import so that not all the bullet points are being "seen" by SL as actual bullet points. I've had "weirdness" like that with the PPT to SL process.
