Syncing with a Content Library Template

Hi John,

When you're pulling in a template from Content Library, it's downloading and saving that template to a folder on your computer so that you'll be able to access it moving forward. If you're taking the entire set of slides in that template, it could be a bunch! How long is it taking to sync and download that? 

Thanks for the response Ashley. I'm only using one layout from the template but does it need to download ALL the layouts from each set? It takes about 15 minutes! I see that it also inserts the relevant Master Slides.

When you add a template from the Content Library to your Storyline project, we'll add the following to your course:

• The slide you chose will be automatically added to the current scene.
• The theme of the template will be added to the themes gallery on the Design tab of the Storyline ribbon, so you can easily reuse it later.
• All the layouts for the template will be added to your slide masters, and you may customize them as you’d like.
• All the layouts for the template will appear in the basic-layouts gallery, making it easier to add new slides from the same template later.

15 minutes feels still long for that, but I didn't run into that long of a time myself. I inserted one slide from the Inspire template, and it wasn't even 15 seconds. 

Since you're seeing a much longer delay, I'd invite you to reach out to our Support team here and they can look at more things on your computer or setup that could be slowing this down.

A good rule of thumb, anything that takes longer than 10 minutes - it's probably not working as it should. Always welcome to reach out to our Support team or here in ELH. The team is available 24/7 here! 

John, did you find a solution? I'm having the same problem.

No Tianna....but as it's something I rarely do it's not a big issue for me. Guess it may just be something localised with my PC.
