syncing audio with screencast (video)

Mar 02, 2015

I am rather new to storyline and am looking for some guidance.  I have created a screencast tutorial demonstrating the use of a particular software.  I don't know if the approach I took with this was the right one, but I am too far down the road at this point.  I first wrote out a script and then recorded it using storylines audio record feature.  After recording the audio portion, I then went ahead and recorded the screencast.  Now, here's my challenge.  Some of the clips are somewhat long (5 minutes), and I am wanting the user to be able to pause the video if they so choose.  I add the storyline controls, but when I pause the video, the audio continues to play because it is a separate file.  The question I have is, how do I connect the two (audio and video) so that they function together.  I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks for the quick response. I was using the video controls.

Ed,

When using the video controls, this will only impact the Video itself. You will want to use this function if you want the video to have a separate playbar to be displayed for the video, allowing users to control the video playback only. If you want the audio/video to start and stop together, you may want to look into using the Player Seekbar, or you could create custom button to pause/play the media together.
