Tab Index set to -1 or 0 no matter what it is set to in the UI

Nov 28, 2019

Hi there,

We are facing an issue where our learning content ends up in a continuous loop in an iframe. This is caused by Storyline 360 setting the Tabindex of several elements to -1. Once the tab cycle gets to the end it cycles back to the lowest value which should be 0 at the top of the page in the parent but it will go to the -1 of the content in the iFrame. This makes the content completely inaccessible as it doe not let you cycle out of the the e-learning at all so you cant navigate to the browser navigation either. Setting the tab index in Storyline does not help either. It seems to set the tabindex in the data/js slide files for tabindex but if you actually inspect the HTML and log the output via JavaScript every element in the content is either 0 or -1. So the tabindex is being overridden in the app.min.js. This needs fixing or at least being able to set custom tabIndex number rather than the automatic interface there is currently present.

Any suggestions, known issues as I couldn't find any that helped?

Thanks

Need a solution for this ASAP! Storyline 360 is advertised as being fully 508 compliant, and it is clearly not... immediate action should be taken to address this!

A course we published back in May 2020 was at the point that we needed for accessibility, and since then in recent updates, things have changed. We are getting intense pressure from clients as to why we have "taken steps back" and this speaks to the product, not our abilities. Any and all support from Articulate staff as to why this is the case is greatly appreciated.
