Tab Interactions: Toggle to each tab doesn't work

May 17, 2016

During preview, my tabs do not work properly. Once I click on one of them, everything else disappears and I can't click/toggle to any other tab. How do I keep the view with the tabs sticking out while it goes to the next tab? I've attached screen shots of what it looks like. I've tried clicking all the options in the slide layers and triggers and I can't figure it out. Also when I click certain layer options, all the tabs overlap each other. Help!

Hi Jennifer,

Are you able to share your .story file here so that we could take a look at how you've set up your tabs? Without seeing it I'm just guessing but perhaps you have each slide layer set to hide the other layers? I'm assuming that the information shown is contained in a layer.

You can upload your file using the "add attachment" button at the bottom of a reply.

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for sharing the file here - you'll want to ensure that the slide layer properties are set to "hide other slide layers" and to not hide the base layer. Then you can choose to hide the items on the base layer within the timeline for the layer so that things like the doc image on slide 1.2 aren't seen on the layers. It looks like you've got a combination of this going on between the two samples slides - but not all the way on either.

Ok, I believe part of the issue is resolved.

Is there a way to keep the slides within Tab Interactions from timing out and going to the next scene? I would rather have them stay on the display until the user clicks on one of the tabs. And the user would have to manually click next to go to the next scene. Would that be a setting under Triggers?
