Tagging Objects and sorting them?

Jan 15, 2015

Hi all,

New to the forums, but not new to articulate studio or storyline, but I just got storyline 2 as part of a new position.

I'm currently mired in a project where I am taking a very large dossier of Clothing Designers and turning it into an eLearning instead of just a printed PDF that get's handed to salespeople to introduce them to the varied list of brands and designers.

My concept is that I'd like them to be represented as trading cards and when the learner clicks on them it will open up and they'll see the back of the card with a picture and bio, etc etc. This isn't what is stumping me.

What I'd like to be able to do is SORT the cards by Category. In that some designers do both clothing AND shoes. Some do ONLY shoes. I'm seeking a way to TAG the cards so the user could click something that says "Show me only designers who carry shoes" or "Show me designers who do shoes and handbags". Not unlike Filtering a column in excel if you think about it ("Show me only these values").

I know that I could create branching slides to cater to each of the categories, but I'm trying to be slick here and impress my new team :)

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey Jonathon -

That'd be really tough to do in SL. The tool isn't setup to do dynamic arrangements like that. However, you might be able to use something in a Web Object to make it work. Here are a couple of examples that could be helpful.
