Taking online work into the training room as hardcopy & sharing with mentors

Oct 05, 2019

My company is considering getting Storyline. As part of the requirements fit we have hit the following problem and, as I'm a newbie to the environment, I'm struggling to find an answer.

Here’s the issue
1. We run online prework courses - prior to people attending a workshop/course where they practice the skills.
2. The prework includes preparatory work that the user needs to complete and take a copy for themselves - so they can have it easily available in the workshop.
We currently have them email their work to themselves which I understand is not generic functionality in Storyline 360.
3. The work usually consists of a series of questions that get them to apply the online lesson to their own situation. There is no right answer so evaluation is not an issue.
4. The ideal solution would be an exported softcopy of the questions and their own related text answers which they can keep.
5. Also in some circumstances we get the user to share their work with their course mentor prior to attending the course to pick up on any major issues out of the classroom - if they have the softcopy this is easy to do and in their control.

How would you tackle the functionality that requires
a) multiple related questions and answers on a topic
b) emailing the questions & response so they can share it with a mentor who may not be on the LMS system
c) taking a printed version to the training room for reference.

What I've tried:
I've successfully printed the slide as a screen dump but that required me to work with the printer setup to get it to fit so its not optimal.

Javascript?
If anyone has already coded something that works that would give me hope.

All thoughts are welcome.

Hi Owen,
Thank you. That gives me lots of options to think about and play with.  I'm going to take Stephanie's principles and adapt them a bit but I think you've shown me a viable way forward.
Thanks also to Stephanie for sharing her approach.

I'll keep you posted on how I get on.
If anyone else has anything to suggest then I'm all ears (so to speak)

Thanks again
