Technical course structure

Jul 15, 2020

Hello,

I am relatively new to Storyline and have to develop some technical procedures.  I am a little uncertain the best way to approach this. The document format I am basing these courses on are structured as in the attached picture. The concept I am thinking about is to  have one slide for each objective (if possible). On these slides, the sub-objectives could be individual layers, and the instructions for each step could be jumping through the timeline on the layers, set up as cue points.

Does this approach sound reasonable? Is there someone out there who had a similar situation...?

Hi, William,

Guess what: slides are FREE!

In other words, there's no reason to restrict yourself to using only one slide per objective.

  • Instead, consider the content and the best way to present each chunk.
  • Also consider how the user will navigate through the content, which includes making it easy to re-visit any part of it.

I don't know how much detail your objectives, sub-objectives, and steps have. If they're simple, than perhaps 1 slide per objective would be enough. But for more content, you might actually want to use 1 SCENE per objective.

Best wishes!
