Templates Hell

Hi,
I'm trying to create templates for a project but I keep getting weird behaviours and I'm kind of stuck.
I read all template related posts and entries from the user manual but it doesn't help that much.
For exemple, I've edited the basic question layout. I needed an extra text field because we want to split the questions in 2 parts. So I have 3 text boxes : 1 for the content, where the suggested answers will go and 2 for the questions.
I tried to use this template with a MCQ but the suggested answers go to the 2nd text box and the 3rd disappears.
I've included captures so you can see for yourselves.
I don't know what to think about this. Should I just give up on adding a text box ? How storyline transforms the quiz dialog box into a slide ?

I found a solution by adding a content placeholder instead of a text placeholder for the second instruction field. It seems this way there's no confusion from Storyline as to which placeholder is the right one for the choices...

You should totally be able to add placeholder text to manage your own text content. Please see the attached sample file along with screencast. If you're not able to do this, please post your file so we can see what's going on with it.

Did you try creating a new question slide with the modified template ? Cos' that where Storyline gets confused for me...
Second part of the solution for me was to duplicate the question layout to create a modified version with the second text box. Applying the layout to a slide a already created seems to work just fine. By the way I'm still with RC9 (don't know if that changes much...)

I see what you're talking about. When you create the new slide, the choices are wonky because the custom layout isn't being auto-applied. But if you right click the thumbnail and reapply the layout, things should be okay. Can you test that? I'm going to submit this to support.
