Templets at story line

Hey,

I want to ask about the use of Templets.

I have a project which has at the bottom of every slide several buttons that relay to other subjects.

The button of each subject is highlited using a different button to allow the lerner to know at wat stage he is in the lerning process and to give him the optin to jump to other subjects at his own discretion.

I tried to do so with several Master layers but I started to think whether it will be useful to do so with a templet.

If so, what will be the most prefered way to do so?
