Test recording, layer triggering on double click instead of single

Nov 05, 2012

I made a screen recording of my companies software using Storyline.  I then built slides using the Test mode in storyline.  The majority of the simulated actions are single clicking various fields.  And when Storyline built these slides it was designed so a single click would trigger the "Try Again" layer.

This works perfectly for every interaction except for double-clicking There is one double-click step in the simulation.  And because the icon is looking for a double click, the "Try Again" layer will only trigger if the user double-click in the wrong area.  I would like this layer to trigger after a single click outside the correct monotone.

When I first started using Storyline it created "Click anywhere outside this Hotspot" logic to trigger this type of layer.  But after the latest update it uses logic that I can't even see on the trigger panel.  So I don't know what I need to edit or even where to look.

I have a workaround in mind.  But I imagine there is a more straightforward way to accomplish what I'm looking for.

Hi Julie,

This thread is a bit older, so I suspect you're on a different update and even version of Storyline then when this post occurred? Have you checked the triggers to see that it's not set to submit based on a double click?

You'll also want to make sure you're working on local project files as described here and that you're testing the published content within the intended environment.
