I'm trying to see if there's a speedy way to test slides without relying on preview. My issue is that if I'm testing slides that have lots of text objects, animations etc., it's impossible to see the text and fix problems because the slide will not show the content of text boxes that appear later in the timeline.
Jumping to different sections in the timeline doesn't change that behavior either.
Is there any workaround to the constant juggle between preview and working within the slide view?
One option would be to add a Seek Bar to the slide so you can jump ahead to any point the timeline while previewing the slide. You can always remove the Seekbar before you publish if you don't want your users jumping ahead, as well.
Another option use the Playhead to preview the slide; just move the playhead to any point on the timeline, then click Play to view the animations.
Thanks, yes I have been already used these options but I was trying to find a way without playing anything. Both options (preview and using the playhead) take time to process and take me out of edit mode so it's a break in the workflow when I just want to quickly assess text positioning etc..
Just trying to find best practices to accomplish faster workflow :)
Ah, I see! Thanks for that clarification. Hopefully other folks in the community can share their workflow best practices here. I'm always interested to see the hacks people use to work smarter! And in the mean time, if there's a feature you'd like to see in Storyline that would make the editing process easier, we want to hear about it! You can tell us more about your ideas in the form of a feature request.
I will definitely do it. I think it would speed the workflow quite a bit if we can have a little bit more flexibility with how the timeline play head updates info on the active slide for viewing and editing purposes.
