Since the latest Storyline 3 update, text becomes blurred and difficult to read when I apply animation. Please see the attached example, which has one screen with unanimated bullet points and one with a fade animation applied.
The text is blurred in Preview mode as well as when the file is published. (Ironic, as the module I'm working on is about disability, accessibility and diversity, that the text is difficult to read...)
Hi Chris, I downloaded your file and published it using SL3 most recent update, and I did not find the blurry text issue. Yes, it shows a bit blurry in preview mode but when published everything is fine. See the attached image.
Thank you for your responses. This is very odd. Leslie, in your published output both slides look ok. Perhaps the problem is with Chrome? (That's my browser of choice.)
Thanks for reaching back out. Chrome is my browser of choice as well.
Do you experience an issue with the link that I shared above when viewing in Chrome? What version of Chrome are you currently using?
If you do not have an issue with the link I shared above, could you verify that you are using Build 3.5.16548.0, which is the latest version for Storyline 3 as shown here.
Do you get the same results with a fresh re-publish?
HI, I'm getting the same blurry text on over 90% of my slides after publishing in SL360 and running from Articulate Online. did you by chance find a solution? the blurriness will be unacceptable for my company. Please Help me....
I am a new user. I have not published anything yet. I have two projects I'm working on. Both have blurry text when I preview the projects, but only when I animate the text. If I remove animation the text is clear and sharp.
Is there already a solution for the problem with blurry objects and text when it's animated? I have lot of courses where there is animation applied. I had hoped that the latest release (December 18, 2018 (Build 3.23.17480.0)) fixed this problem
a little extra information. it not only appears with animations but also with transitions. But not with all of them. When i apply a push transition the objects are clear. When i apply a Fade transition all objects om my slide are blurry.
Hi there, Chris and Mark. We were able to identify an issue with animated text looking blurry. It is still impacting update 23 of Storyline 360 and update 5 of Storyline 3.
We have this issue prioritized, and I'm tagging this discussion so we can update you with any changes!
Mark, I wasn't able to replicate blurry objects when applying a fade transition to my slides. Could you let me know specifically what sort of slide objects are impacted on your end? If you'd like to share a couple of example slides here, that would be helpful, too! Use this link if your content is sensitive.
My bad. There was a fade animation on one small object inside a group that caused the blurriness. I overlooked it. I did some testing and i can't find the bluriness on page transitions. So that's a good thing :-)
Since August I'm having the same issue on all of my courses. Not only text, but also visuals and other objects become blurred after applying an animation. I am always using the most recent update of SL360, but none of the updates since August seem to have addressed this issue.
I have worked around this by duplicating every single animated object and displaying it after the animation on the original object has finished. However, this is far from a sustainable workaround.
I'm glad to read this issue is being handled with highest priority and am looking forward for a fix soon.
Hi there, Thomas. We've started work on the blurriness issue with animated objects, but I don't have a release date to share just yet. We'll let you know about any changes in this discussion!
Hi there! I have the same problem of blurriness with everything on the slides on preview and published. Also the SL360 interface ribbon is blurred. Files that used to look fine are blurry now after the last SL360 update. Interesting is that the same file looks OK in SL3. Any solutions?
Hi Leslie, I checked, the scaling is 100%. I may be wrong about the interface, it looks better than the content. Please have a look. I attach a print screen.
Thanks for sharing that image SL360 EEIRH, although this discussion is a bit different than the one you posted in here. Are you having blurry text while using animations too? If so, that's an issue our team is investigating right now, and we'll update this discussion once we have more detail. If you've run into general blurriness while viewing in Chrome we'll share details in that other discussion you've responded in. Either way, you should now be subscribed to both and will receive notifications.
Dear Ashley, I have no animations, the problem occurs on any slide. The image I attached is from a new project I opened with only one simple title and content text slide. If this thread is only about animations, I will follow the discussion on the other thread. Thank you.

Hey Chris,
I took a look at your file as well and I'm not seeing the blurriness:
You can take a look at my published output here.
If you experience the blurriness with my file above, please let me know what browser you are viewing in so that I can take another look.

Hi Chris, I tested it on chrome itself. again there was no bluryness on the texts.

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with your published course.

Are there any updates so far on this?
Hi there, Thomas. We've started work on the blurriness issue with animated objects, but I don't have a release date to share just yet. We'll let you know about any changes in this discussion!
In the meantime, if you'd like to have us take a look at your file, feel free to share it privately with our team here.
Hello Crystal, do you have any news?
We have many courses with fade animation on texts and the problem still appears.
Do you know, when we can expect fix for it?
Hi there, Jacek. I'm sorry I don't have anything more specific to share, yet.

Hello Mihai,
Thanks for reaching out and describing what you are experiencing.
It sounds like you may be running into a slightly different issue. You mentioned the interface is blurred as well.
Do you have the windows scaling set above 100%?
Here's how you can check/change that for Windows 10 for example:
You may be prompted to restart your computer for the change to take effect.
Hi Leslie, the windows scaling is 100%?

Hi Crystal, any update?
Is this issue font specific? If yes, please let me know the font to use. I am currently using a sans-serif font.
