I tried selecting the "Resize shape to fit text" but this issue still exists.
the issue is that when I click in the text box, the text gets somewhat smaller then bigger when I click out of the text box...and it may shift items to the next line once I click out of the text box.
How do I get the text to remain the same size as I click in and out of the text box, so that I can get the "true size" of the font whether I am in or out of the text box.
Nelson is right. Setting the zoom level at 100% will correct this issue. I found that out from someone at Articulate after I complained about the same problem at a conference. (Storyline has great interactive features, but its text-editing capabilities are rather pathetic.)

Try setting your zoom level to 100% (bottom right-hand corner of Storyline). That always works for me!
