'Text Data Entry' lifespan?

Jan 31, 2014

Hi guys,

Wondering if you could help? We were thinking of doing online PDR and PDPs using Storyline. The idea being users fill out their Personal Development Plans and Reviews online in a storyline built course -  using text entry fields to enter and save their answers.

My question is how long are answers entered this way stored for? As we typically have reviews/plans updated every 6 months. So if a user logged back into their storyline built PDR/PDP plan in 6 months or a year's time, would their answers still be there saved?

Cheers for any help you can offer!

Paul

Depends how you allow resume and if you use an LMS, if you are just going to use data entry fields, they could get stored in the LMS if you use questions instead.

Not sure if Storyline is the best tool for this sort of thing, how will the user get their PDP as an output, how will it get reviewed, i would n=be more inclined to look at another solution, I remember that ULCC did an Individual learning Plan tool a din for Moodle

Thanks, I'll have a look at this ULCC approach.

Yes, in my head they would just open the storyline course and it would just resume automatically, with the data from the text fields that were saved in the LMS being pulled through again to show it like it was before. I was just wondering if the text data does indeed remain in the LMS after such a long period of time (just a bit worried the whole company creates their PDR/PDP and goes to look at it in 6 months and all the data entry fields being blank! :-/
