What update of Storyline are you using, and what iOS version and iPad? I have seen this behavior reported to our QA team using Update 5 and 6 of Storyline, iOS 7.1, although it's not always consistent. It seems the current workaround is to have the user type in text using the split keyboard functionality. You can choose to split the keyboard by holding down the button in the bottom right hand corer and choosing "split".
If you'd like to let me know the information about your course (Storyline update, iOS, etc.) I can add that to the existing report filed with our QA team as they continue to investigate the problem.
I have the latest versions of both Storyline and iOS. I have tried deleting the boxes and re-adding them, but the issue remains. The split keyboard did not solve the issue either.
Thanks for confirming those items. I see our QA team is still checking into it, as the behavior has not been consistently reproducible for them. Do you have a link to a course we could check out as well to do some additional testing? A link to the published output (web server, LMS, etc.) or the .story file would be great.
Thanks Mandy - I saw the behavior within your SCORM Cloud link, and I shared that with our QA team for additional review. I'll post here when there is any additional information to share.
This issue is still with our QA team, so I don't have any updates to share yet. I have shared this thread with them, so that I'd be able to offer any additional information here when it's available.
Was it a file you upgraded from SL1 to SL2? I saw a few users who reported that initially - but I'd like to know if you can recreate it on a brand new SL2 file. If so, can you share that copy with us here?
I tested that on my iPad mini running iOS 8.3 and didn't run into any issues with the cursor jumping from text entry to text entry. Can you tell me the steps you're going through to see this jump? Do you have to click in a particular order, does it occur before or after trying to type text?
For me, the first box works ok. Then when I tap the second box it jumps to the third. The third box works. But then when I try the second against jumps to the first!
I have tried with different numbers of boxes and there is a similar pattern.
With the help of a few others on the support team we were able to replicate this behavior in your sample file and in a new version I published using Update 5. I've shared it with our QA team to take a look - since we saw some different behavior across different iOS versions.
I'll be in touch once I have additional information to share.
I don't have an update to share on this issue yet, but we did reopen a new bug for it, as it was something that was supposed to be included in Update 5. During our testing as I mentioned, the behavior was different across iOS versions, so that may also be playing a role in the behavior you're seeing.
Once I have additional information to share, I'll post it here.
Is there any update on this issue? I am having the same problem using update 7 of SL2 and viewing in iOS9. I have a slide with 12 text entry boxes and it will jump on two or three of them randomly as I try to work through them. It is different boxes exhibiting the behavior each time.
I popped in to check on the status and unfortunately I do not have an update to provide. This issue is still in the hands of our QA Team. This thread is included so that we can update when applicable as Ashley mentioned above.
This IPad issue has also occurred for me in any slides that have more than 2 text inputs. The only way I could move forward was to split all text entries into multiple slides. I issue still exists on the latest SL2 revision 7 with IOS 9. I have also tried to remake the slides after updating to newer versions same issue!
What version and update of Storyline are you using? Also what iOS are you running on your iPad? I see some notations on the original issue discussed here that it was fixed in an earlier update of Storyline 2, so I'd want to begin by ensuring you're on the latest update which is Update 11. You can download the update here.

HI there,
Thanks for the reply.

Has there been any progress on this issue?

Hi again,
Thank you for the continued support. I really hope we can find a fix soon!

Hi,
Just wondering if there is any progress? Our course has to go live soon so I really need to solve the issue or find a solution.
Does anyone know a way to use text entry boxes on the iPad without encountering the issues previously mentioned?
Thanks
Hi Mandy,
This issue is still with our QA team, so I don't have any updates to share yet. I have shared this thread with them, so that I'd be able to offer any additional information here when it's available.
Hi again,
I am still struggling with this issue. Has their been any progress?
Thanks
Hi Mandy,
I see that this issue is still with our QA team in regards to SL1 but that the behavior does not persist in SL2.
Unfortunately that is not the case! I am working with Storyline 2 and I have the problem in 2 courses!

HI again,
Yes it was a file that was converted from SL1 to SL2 but now I have just created a page from scratch in SL2 and still have the same issue.
I tested on my ipad and it still jumps from one box to the next!

Is there any news on this issue?
This has been on-going for so long now. Is a solution in sight?
Many thanks

Hi All,
I am facing the same issue on IPad. Any update or resolution for this? Please suggest.

I am using update 11 of Storyline 2. iOS version is 9.3.5
