Text entry

Hi team

I have created a text variable on one of my slides where the learner needs to enter their name. I am referencing this variable in a number of places throughout the course.

Now some of the learners may not enter their names which would make the referenced fields look funny/empty.

I was wondering if there is a way to make the text variable field compulsary. That is, the learner cannot proceed to the next slide if the text field is empty. I tried using the convert to freeform but then I need to enter acceptable answers and there are none.
