I have created an elearning course that includes text entry fields on various slides. I have added alt text for each one, but when I test with a screen reader it does not read the alt text. It says, "Input edit blank" when the field is selected on the slide. Is there something else I should be doing to have this be more clear?
I am using Articulate Storyline 2 and the NVDA screen reader to test.
Although NVDA will work with many aspects of Storyline content, it isn't officially supported at this time. To learn more about Storyline's accessibility support, see this article.
Did you add alt text to the text entry as directions for the user? It sounds like the screen reader is reading what the user is expected to do (input the text) and if you had additional directions on those slides is it being picked up by your screen reader?

Hi there Kelly!
Storyline 2 is compatible with JAWS 16 or later with Internet Explorer 11 or later (Flash output only). Do you have access to JAWS to test how it behaves differently with that tool?
I do not currently have JAWS to test this. All I have access to is NVDA.
