Text entry fields

Oct 18, 2012

Hi Everyone,

I am currently creating a sort of software simulation assessment which uses a bunch of branching and text entry.

The problem that I am having is that all text in the software is all caps and I can't see how to make the text entry fields all caps when a learner types into them. On the home tab I can set them any which way i like using the text formatting tools but it doesn't effect what the learner types in during the training.

I also can't see how to set the font and text size in a text entry box unless there is text in it. I want blank text entry boxes but to keep the font setting i have to have fullstops in the - not ideal. I know there was some way to do this in Powerpoint but I can't recall it.

All help appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the link, this bit:

You can apply some additional formatting options to the prompt (instruction) text in the data entry field, such as bold, italics, underline, highlight color, and even bullets. However, these formatting options will not apply to the user-entered data.

cleared things up a bit but I'm finding that none of the formatting selection work on user entered data if the field is blank. You can select the field and set all the formatting on the home screen but when you run/preview the training the user entered data has no text formatting applied to it.
