Text entry interaction - locking progress until an entry is made

Mar 18, 2014

Hi there,

I've been dabbling a bit with text entry variables... learners can type in their thoughts on something they've read on one slide and then compare what they wrote with some best practice answers on the next slide.

I'd like to 'lock' the ability to click the NEXT button until the learner has made a meaningful text entry on the first slide.

I've come up with a pretty crude solution so far, by adding a variable that unlocks the NEXT button when the learner presses the space bar (to try to discourage learners from simply typing one or two characters in the text entry box to move on).

This works OK, but I was just wondering whether the wonderful Articulate community could suggest a more robust ways of doing the same thing?

(Have attached my project file below.)

Many thanks,

Gillian
