Text Entry - Text too small

Jul 30, 2015

Hi all,

I’m probably not the first one.... but I need some help with using the text entry option.

The situation:

At one point in the course, students need to fill in some information in a text entry. At the end of the course I want the information to show up again so they are able to print their input. I am familiar with the usages of variables.

Whatever I try, the text becomes really small and students will be unable to read it properly.

What am I doing wrong?

Hereby the options I am using:

And below the unreadable output:

Thank you in advance for the help!

Hi Sietske,

My apologies  it looks like your first post got flagged as potential spam, but you should be good to go now. In regards the text changing size as a part of the variable reference, it sounds like it's working as expected as described in the below article:

You may find that text changes size when it includes a variable reference, depending on the length of the variable's current value. This is by design to ensure that the text is always visible to learners, no matter how lengthy it is.

For example, let's say you're using a variable to display text, then you update the variable with new text at a specific point on the timeline or during an interaction. Depending on the length of the text, it may shrink to fit within its container.

To avoid shrinking variable text, make the text box big enough to accommodate the longest variable value.
