Text entry works inconsistently on some computers

Jul 10, 2020

I have a course that was developed in Articulate Storyline 3 which requires text entry. It has been working well for most users, but for some it doesn't work. I've advised them to use Google Chrome as that seems to be a factor (versus Internet Explorer). But in testing, I'm running into trouble myself. I have tried it on my work computer, and am unable to enter the text. It does say I entered the correct response, but doesn't show what I typed in. The strange thing is that when I do it on my personal computer (same internet server, same browser) it does work. Why would it be working only on some computers? I have tried using "resume saved state" and "reset to initial state" and it makes no difference. I'm attaching a sample slide where this is occurring. (The correct responses are: a = 7 and g = 7)

I  don't know. It's quite possible that my work computer has ad blockers or other extensions. And I would have to ask the people who are having problems some questions about the computers they're using. That might be a path to go down, e.g. find out if they are using their work or personal computers. If they're doing the courses at work, it could be that they have firewalls or other blockers. Can you tell me why that would be preventing the text entry? Or in some cases, it allows the text entry, but it doesn't show what I entered, and gives me feedback that it was correct.
