Text font altered after using 'Story Size' command

Aug 28, 2019

I am almost through my course creation with meticulously curated font types & sizes...but during the last review before sending it to host on LMS, I clicked at 'Story Size' button in the 'Design' ribbon and got curious to play around, thinking it won't automatically save anything.

clicked around, guess I changed the aspect ration from 4:3 to 16:9, or may be even custom, and then unchecked > checked again the 'Lock Aspect Ratio' button...and came out...only to realize that the text in the button and text box was now reading in 2 lines instead of earlier alignment...

Did an 'undo' but to no avail...

Looked in %appdata% folder has only 1 temp file of my project with the latest timestamp (that holds the messed up fonts). Also, I could see the previous versions in Review 360, but not able to find a way if that could be downloaded and launched again in Storyline 360.

I do not want to work through all the slides especially at the brink of releasing it...as it will cause delays in meeting the timeline. Is there a way I can make Storyline 360 reset it to prior font settings auto-magically (the story size already is reset to 4:3 (720 x 540), with locked aspect ration?

A quick response will be much helpful.

Without backups you are going to have to redo this manually. Probably not what you want to hear, if resetting the slide size did not fix then this is the only way.

I would look at a backup solution that saves your files or use version control to ensure you do not have this happen again.

I am sure it happens to us all, I have triple redundancy on files being backed up every 30 minutes just in case anything happens.

Hi Deepak, and thanks Phil for stepping in!

Phil is correct, this would be a manual change if you've already locked the aspect ratio and customized the Story Size.

I've seen this situation in a few other discussions. I'll link them here for reference.

So sorry you ran into this issue! I hope people will chime in if they've run into this error too.
