Text formatting - Linebreak
Dec 03, 2018
Hello,
I'm wondering if there's a text formatting option to disallow words to be divided on a line break, when confined inside a shape. I cannot find any solution on the internet for this. It would be super useful when using the "shrink text on overflow", as I work with translating the same Storyline slides into many languages. I know there's a similar function in inDesign that allows the user to designate wether words should hyphenate or not. Does something similar in Storyline exist, that I just can't find?
Thank you,

Hi there Peter!
While that's not a feature in Storyline currently, I'm happy to pass along the idea to our team! WE always appreciate feedback from the community, so thanks for letting us know how we can make things better. 😁
Hello, thanks for the reply.
I wanted to add some clarification just in case I did not explain sufficiently:
These are the formatting settings for the text box:
Text before scaling the shape:
Text is moved down first 1 line, then split, instead of continuously resizing and keeping the text on just 1 line.
Just to make sure, you cannot force Storyline to keep scaling the text on one line and/or not cut words in half?
That's right, Peter. The text will begin to scale down in size once you fill the text box with text. Until then, the words may be split on to two lines.
Here's a quick video to show you what I mean.
