I just downloaded 360 and tried creating a simple text box, but the text is invisible. I know there's something in there, because the box grows the more I type. I've tried bringing to front, changing the text color, etc. Help!
Looks like you've replied via e-mail and that does a couple of things:
Does not allow your images/attachments to populate
Attaches your e-mail signature

Here's my storyline 360 project file. Notice the empty text box in the slide view, but in the timeline it says "This is a test this is a test" ... there is text there, just not appearing. Do you get this same result on your computer?
try creating a new project file and importing that slide in and see if it makes a difference. Do you have your Windows DPI set to 96DPI or 100% for Windows 10?
I created a new 360 project and imported the slide... still no text. Also imported a Storyline 2 project.. all text boxes are empty in 360! As for DPI settings, Windows 7 is set to 100%... can't change to 96% (see attachment).
The case of the disappearing modern text is solved! 🌟
Our team identified the issue you were running into where that modern text would become invisible in the Storyline editor, but would still show when previewed or published. They implemented a fix in the latest update of Storyline 360.
Take a look at the release notes here for some more detail and you can update by launching the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline. Details here.
I am having the same issue with my trial version. Very frustrating. I turned to this blog to find a solution. I plan to turn off modern text and see if it helps. Without seeing the text, it is almost impossible to create question slides.

Hard to say Bruce without seeing the file - is the text font white (if the slide background is white)?

This is what I'm seeing
I see the same as Walt
This is my view. So, I guess it's just happening on my machine. Any troubleshooting tips?

Hey Bruce,
Sorry that you're having a tough time with this. I can see the text as well, so that makes it especially hard to diagnose.
By mentioning that you are having difficulty across files in Storyline 360, I'd advise a repair of your software to see if that alleviates the issue.
If that doesn't work, I think that support may need to peek over your shoulder to get an inside look and you can reach out to our team here.
I have also had this problem multiple times. I have always had to uninstall and reinstall Storyline -- a "repair." It's frustrating.
Hi Andrea,
Sorry to hear that you've run into a similar issue.
Curious if you are using Modern Text in your project? If so, is the issue resolved if you turn off this setting?
Hey Andrea,
I just got to your post here, so that confirms the similar issue for me.
I'm going to add this thread to our report as it is considered a bug that we are looking into.
Hi all,
I to have been experiencing this exact same issue recently where text in text boxes was invisible, but only visible on preview or when published.
I could not figure out why. Then I saw your post Leslie about turning off Modern Text...
IT WORKED :) So I think that is the simple solution.
Glad that this thread was helpful for you as well Adam :)
I appreciate you chiming in to share.

Hi everyone,
I had a similar issue with the text box the text would not appear in a preview mode.
I think that one of the possible reasons is that I created some custom states for the text box.
Only changing the text box to rectangular shape helped me.
Hi Maria!
Thank you so much for sharing this workaround! I know it will be helpful for others who come across this discussion with a similar snag.
